Next will be a visit to Bushmills Irish Whiskey, the oldest distillery in Ireland, with an original license from 1608. On our return, we will stop in the village of Tobemore in the town of Maghera, the birthplace of Charles Thomson, secretary of the Continental Congress and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. May 10 will be devoted to a tour of the City of Belfast. We will tour the Protestant neighborhood of Shankill Road and the Catholic neighborhood of Falls Road, and see murals documenting "the Troubles," as well as visit the open gate of the Peace Wall standing between the two neighborhoods. We will visit the RMS Titanic Museum, located where the ship was built between 1909 and 1911. The trip will conclude with gala farewell dinner in a Belfast restaurant, and we return home the following day. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII the spectacular Dingle Peninsula and see the beautiful Lakes of Killarney. We will spend the night in Ireland's second-largest city, Cork. On May 7, we will travel north to County Tipperary to visit the Rock of Cashel, the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster. After a tour of the Cashel, we will continue to Wexford, where we will lay a wreath at the Commodore John Barry Memorial on Crescent Quay. The memorial was a gift from the people of the United States to the town of Wexford in 1956 to honor the father of the American Navy. We then will return to Dublin. On May 8, we will head north through St. Patrick's Country to Northern Ireland. We will visit Downpatrick, the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Lecale, and Down Cathedral, where St. Patrick is believed to be interred. We will continue to Belfast, capital of Northern Ireland. The peace process has brought a measure of optimism to the rebellious city, and we will step back in time with a visit to the infamous Victorian-era Crumlin Road Gaol.
