WINTER 2013-14 7 picture-perfect setting. Transportation will be available for the less mobile. For the Ladies You'll love downtown Greenville! You probably haven't attended a Congress setting quite like this one, with quaint shops and al fresco dining. Through the church's courtyard, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the charming Parish Hall, with wood-paneled walls and fireplaces, is the location of the First Lady's Reception. The historic Poinsett Club will be the venue for the First Lady's Luncheon on Tuesday. Originally a private home, the club features stunning Colonial architecture and carefully preserved décor. A highlight of the luncheon will be a presentation about Joel Roberts Poinsett, for whom we now know the Poinsettia! Award-Winning Hotel When you see the Hyatt Regency, you'll understand why it received the 2014 Top New or Renovated Meeting Site Award from ConventionSouth magazine. Described as luxury with a contemporary flair, it's a great location to host a Congress. From the Roost Restaurant facing Main Street to the lobby bar and alcoves for meetings, the setting is perfect for getting together with friends. Receiving AAA's four-star award can only mean a great sleeping room. You'll find the room layout unique and a perfect place to relax between meetings or after coming back from a trip down Main Street. See box below for reservation information. Getting to Greenville Getting to Greenville is easy. For those driving from north and west, the trip over the Smoky Mountains is a sight to behold. Other routes are easy, too. The entrance to the hotel is unique, and that information will be provided in the future. Those flying into Greenville should note that GSP is the airport code. Service is provided by Allegiant, American, Delta, Southwest and United Airlines. The airport is about 15 miles from the Hyatt Regency. The hotel offers free transportation, but other private service information will be provided soon. Come celebrate the 125th year of our Society in Greenville! The reservation window is now open! The rate is $125/night and the reservation window is from July 17, 2014 to July 24, 2014. The hotel has undergone an extensive remodeling. All rooms are "run of the house" with king or double-bed availability; the hotel does not offer a club or concierge level. The preferred method is to make your reservation online at: https://resweb.passkey.com/go/ NSSAR2014. Alternatively, contact the Hyatt Hotel Central Reservations at 1-888-421-1442 and mention the NSSAR rate. Should you have an issue with placing a reservation, contact Peter Grassl, Congress Planning Chairman, at pogsar@gmail.com.
