Fund needed to support our drive to a $750,000 endowment improvement, but businesses and foundations need to see the support of our own member body before they commit. These ambassadors, along with several others not pictured, are responsible for more than $30,000 since July 2012. A huge thank-you is in store from each future orator as well as those orators pictured on the opposite page below. After all, the contributors all attended and, in part, were inspired by these orators from 14 states. Join the first group of endowment contributors and show our future contestants that the SAR supports a significant scholarship for their efforts. Find how to contribute at www.sar.org/youth/orations. The 230th Anniversary of the Treaty of Paris Lapel Pin The SAR Foundation operates exclusively for the beneÅt and support of the functions, obligations, purposes and objectives of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. In that role, the Foundation is proud to offer its 2013 lapel pin in commemoration of the September 3, 1783 signing of the Treaty of Paris by Ben Franklin, John Jay and John Adams. The Treaty of Paris, among other dictates, ended the war for independence and established the parameters for our country's birth. We are proud to offer this pin as a Åtting reminder of this major event in the establishment of the United States of America. This pin is the fourth in a series of pins that have been offered in recognition of a $100 donation ($50 or more plus the Powell matching funds) to the SAR Foundation, Inc. The money is being raised to renovate space for our national headquarters, education center, and museum galleries to be located in our new facility, 805 West Main Street, in the downtown museum district of Louisville, Kentucky. This major building project is 10 years in the making and the end is now in sight. With your continued support, we could be moving into our new facility within the next 12 to 18 months. You can view our progress by clicking on the image of our building on the front page of the national SAR website www.sar.org and watching the video. For additional information about the Foundation, please also visit The SAR Foundation website www.sarfoundation. org. There, you will also be able to make credit card donations or download donation forms. Donations may be mailed to the SAR Foundation, 1000 South Fourth St., Louisville, KY 40203. We appreciate your support, without which we would not be able to complete this project. The SAR Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) non-proŵt organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. WINTER 2012-13 11
