24 SAR MAGAZINE Spring Leadership Meeting T he Spring Leadership Meeting included a dedication of the James E. Hesse mezzanine reading area of the SAR Genealogical Library in Louisville. Hesse, a NMSSAR Compatriot, left a $125,000 bequest to the library. His widow, Dr. Estelle H. Rosenblum, front left, was on hand for the dedication. In a report of the nominating committee, both John Michael "Mike" Tomme Sr. (GASSAR) and Larry P. Cornwell (ALSSAR) were endorsed for the office of Treasurer General. The other offices endorsed included: President General—Lindsey Cook Brock (FLSSAR); Secretary General— Thomas E. Lawrence (TXSSAR); Chancellor General—John L. Dodd (CASSAR); Genealogist General—John D. Sinks (DCSSAR); Registrar General—Larry Guzy (GASSAR); Historian General—Robert Forrest Towns (GASSAR); Librarian General—C. Bruce Pickette (ALSSAR); Surgeon General—Edward P. Riegel Sr. (GASSAR); and Chaplain General— Randy Moody (FLSSAR). Nominated to the SAR Foundation were Joseph W. Dooley and Dr. Sam Powell. The honorees selected to receive the Minuteman Award for 2014 are Warren Alter (AZSSAR), Roger Barnhart (INSSAR), Robert Bogardus (ORSSAR), Karl Jacobs (CASSAR), Thomas E. Lawrence (TXSSAR) and Timothy E. Ward (OHSSAR). President General Nathan E. White Jr. (2006- 07) and wife Wanda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during the Spring Leadership Meeting in Louisville.
